晴ときどき鬼瓦。

いやー、見てきました。Heinz Fieldで行われた、Champions World Seriesの第2戦、チェルシー対ASローマ。結果から言うと・・・・、うーん。ASローマ、時差ぼけですか？ それともやっぱりやる気ない？チェルシーが3-0で完封勝ちでした。

席も結構いい席で、選手が間近に見えて良かったんだけれどもねー。チェルシーの動きはいいんだけれど、ローマが全然体が動かないようで、終始圧倒されっぱなしでした。

スタジアムはというと、各国サッカー代表のユニフォームを着た人がいたり、やっぱりinternationalな観客構成。サポーターはローマよりもチェルシーの方が断然多かった。1ブロック応援団が確保していたところもあったし。それでもTottiの人気はすごかった。選手のコール時の歓声は一番でした。

後半は、ラフプレーから乱闘に。両選手1名ずつレッドカードでいきなり退場の波乱。結局ローマはシュートも3,4本しか打てずじまいでした。試合後の花火大会の方が盛り上がったとかいう噂も。

サッカーの試合に行っていたため、テレビでLiveで見ることはできなかったが、Bostonで行われている民主党のNational conventionにて、今日ケリー候補の統領候補指名受諾演説があった。

一番下のリンクが、演説そのもののtranscriptである。読んでみると、いくつかbulletとして上げられる要点は、だいたい日本の新聞が書いてあるようなものである。

特にやはり注目すべきは、テロとの戦いや、国際社会の中でのスタンスの取り方であるが、（やはり各紙の新聞を見ると、新聞によって取り扱い方が違うことがよく分かるが）

・我々は世界の「灯火」として、「恐れられるのでなく尊敬される必要がある」

・強力な軍と強固な同盟を率いなければならない、と米軍増強と同盟関係再構築の必要性を強調。

・戦争をしたいからするのではなく、最後の最後に必要と判断されたときのみ行う。

・いかなる国家、国際機関にも、米国の安全保障に対する拒否権を与えない」と述べ、時には先制攻撃も辞さない

というような事が述べられていた。結局、ブッシュ政権の理由こじつけまくりの戦争とは距離を置き、「思慮深く、透明な判断の上で戦争が必要ならする。」と言ったけど、「いかなる国家、国際機関にも、米国の安全保障に対する拒否権を与えない。」と言って、アメリカを守るためには時には先制攻撃も辞さない、また国連なんかにへーこらしない、というところでは、「相変わらずのアメリカだな」と言う印象を持つ。 総合的に見れば、「ブッシュ政権よりはマシ」という感じか。

また、あまり日本の新聞は取り上げていないが、中東の石油・・・というかサウジの金持ち・・・に依存するやり方を改め、効率的な自動車の技術を開発するであるとか、一応「エコロジー」な方向も少し打ち出してはいる。ただ、「地球環境」という言葉を全面に出して強調している部分は少なく（冒頭、お母さんが教えてくれた自然の大切さ・・・みたいなところぐらいか）、国益を考えての政策という感じで、まぁ、相変わらずですねという感じ。

あとは医療保険が高すぎる問題。これは在米日本人にも切実な問題です。
