At a local store (Giant Eagle at Shadyside), I could find Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Sunday edition with an interesting top story, "Where did jobs go? Look in Bangalore".
As I reported one of my previous entry of this weblog, some phone companies like SprintPCS already moved their customer support dept. to Bangalore. Meanwhile, DELL decided to move their cutomer support dept. back to the States since they had so many complaints about the worker's English skill from customers.

さて、NECのSmartVision TVチューナーボードを遠隔から操作して出先からＴＶを見ようというこの最近ありがちな試み、直前のエントリでは古典的な方法を使ってそれを実現しましたが、いまいちチャンネルを切り替えるのにいちいちTightVNCを使うのは不便ということで、チャンネル切り替えサーバを作ることにしました。（すでに誰か作っていそう）ちなみにJavaを久しぶりに書いて頭をCからJavaへ戻すのと、Eclipse入門を兼ねていたいかにも週末プログラミング。
NECのSmart Vision TVチューナーボードといくつかのソフトウェアを組み合わせ、家にDSLなどを引いていると、出先からTVが生で (Windows Media Playerで) 見れるようになります。とりあえずまずは、古典的なソフトの組み合わせを使って、実現。
